About Me
My name is Ingrid Sellschop, and I am a nature and landscape photographer, as well as a clinically practicing Physiotherapist. I am currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
My journey in exploring photography as a form of creative expression started when I was twelve years of age, and it grew and adapted over the years, as I gained more life experience. I found that my passion for photography was complimented by my passion for helping people on their journey of discovery and healing, be it from an injury, post-surgery, a traumatic event or learning to manage chronic pain.
Hey there, I’m Ingrid
I encourage people through my therapeutic photography retreats and photo walks, to see photography as a medium for exploring creative rest, playfulness, connection, self-discovery, and self-expression. My aim is to help people to reframe and view life through the lens from different perspectives; to explore the storytelling aspect of photography and to connect with their emotions and feelings when capturing an image. I am also an avid conservationist, and I have published articles and images on avian behaviour, the Nile Monitor breeding cycle, as well as identifying the existence of the rare Pickersgill Reed frog in Southern KwaZulu Natal.
